The problem of the pulsation of the Cepheid CO Aurigae.

ANTONELLO E., KANBUR S.M. and McARTHUR G.K.

Abstract (from CDS):

CO Aur is unique among the double mode Cepheids in the Galaxy owing to its period ratio 0.80, and it should be pulsating in the first and second overtone mode. With the new opacities it is not possible to obtain a satisfactory pulsation model for CO Aur which is also compatible with the models of the other beat, bump and first overtone Cepheids. While the other Cepheid models require a low mass for a given luminosity, the CO Aur model requires mass and luminosity which are compatible with standard values.
