A calibration of the 85 Peg binary system.

FERNANDES J., MOREL P. and LEBRETON Y.

Abstract (from CDS):

We have calibrated the initial abundances, age and mixing-length parameters of the visual binary system 85 Pegasi. We obtain an age t85Peg=9345±500Myr, masses mA=0.88±0.01M and mB=0.55±0.02M, an initial helium mass fraction Yi=0.25±0.01, an initial metallicity [(Fe)/(H)]i=-0.185±0.054 and mixing-length parameters ΛA=1.80±0.05 and ΛB=2.14±0.10. We find that, as already proposed, 85 Peg B is itself a binary. The mass of the unseen companion is mb≃0.11M.
