An X-ray analysis of the cD cluster Abell 2199.

SIDDIQUI H., STEWART G.C. and JOHNSTONE R.M.

Abstract (from CDS):

We describe the ROSAT analysis of the cD cluster Abell 2199. The spatial distribution is found to be slightly elongated, with an axis ratio of ≃0.8 and position angle of ≃45 degrees anticlockwise from due North about the cluster centre. The surface brightness profile reveals a significant cooling flow of ≃250M/yr, although a lower mass deposition rate is deduced from the spectral data. The total gas and gravitational masses within a radius of 1.8 Mpc are found to be ≃1x1014M and ≃5x1014M respectively. The implications of these findings are discussed.
