The TeV γ-ray visibility of Geminga-like pulsars.

KAUL R.K.

Abstract (from CDS):

It is shown that, while the number of Geminga-like pulsars in the Galaxy may be ∼103, the prospects of detecting TeV gamma-ray signals from them are not very encouraging. Arguments are presented to show that Geminga-like pulsars having periods in the range 200-500ms, surface magnetic fields >1012Gauss and preferentially located within ∼2kpc of the earth may be able to produce detectable TeV gamma-ray signals.
