Abstract (from CDS):

The imaging Compton telescope COMPTEL on board the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory (CGRO) measures γ-rays in the energy range 0.75-30MeV with an energy resolution of 9.7% FWHM at 1MeV. Shortly after the discovery of SN 1993J on March 29 1993, the region containing this source was observed from April 6 to 12, 1993 and again from June 29 to July 27, 1993. A search for γ-ray line emission from the supernova yields no detection. 2σ upper limits for the two predicted lines at 847keV and at 1.238MeV of 6.2x10–5γ/(cm2.s) and 2.9x10–5γ/(cm2.s), respectively, were derived. These limits are compared with the predictions of some theoretical models.
